My Dry January (DJ) Journal Sunday 5th January Day5 No matter how much one tries to convince oneself that DJ is easy and one is enjoying every moment; In reality, it is challenging in every sense, especially as (in my case ) much of family life is focussed around mealtimes. Especially dinner /supper. Of course, because we are middle class, liberal and not impoverished ( we are not rich either) there is always a nice bottle of wine or two to help the proceedings along. I reckon this year ,2020, I have it tougher as 2 out of 3 children rather enjoy a glass of wine or two. To make it even worse, the younger (13) soon to be 14 is even allowed the odd glass, no way would I have allowed my elder daughters to do this, ever. There we are, I still feel relatively proud to have reached D5 clean and dry. I would love to say without temptation but sadly this is not the case, one could even describe what I feel as longing for a bloody drink or yearning or pleading. When will I get to the time, when as all my sober friends describe smugly ‘ I never think about alcohol anymore ‘ . I think I always will, I love the taste, love it, good wine, nice vodka, peaty whisky. This DJJ is making me feel worse now, I am therefore back to review my piece clinical pharmacokinetics (CPk) lucky me .
